Borrowed Hindsight ("we") publishes educational stories about money and career decisions on this website and on our Instagram and YouTube channels. This policy explains what information we handle and why.

This website

borrowedhindsight.org does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or sign-up forms. We do not collect personal information from visitors. Our host, GitHub Pages, may log technical data such as IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub's privacy statement. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Our publishing tool (BH Publisher)

BH Publisher is an internal tool used only to publish our own videos to our own YouTube and Instagram accounts. It uses YouTube API Services and the Instagram API.

• It accesses only the Borrowed Hindsight channels and accounts, and only to upload our videos, set their titles, descriptions and schedule, and post comments on our own posts.
• It does not access, collect, store or share data about any other YouTube or Instagram user.
• Authorisation tokens for our own accounts are kept in encrypted storage and used only for these publishing actions.
• You can revoke any access you may have granted to a Google API client at Google security settings.

By watching our YouTube videos you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Data retention and deletion

BH Publisher stores no YouTube user data. The only Google data it keeps is the authorisation token for our own channel. It is stored encrypted, used only to upload our videos, and replaced or deleted whenever access is revoked. We do not store, cache or analyse YouTube API data such as views, comments or channel information.

To revoke BH Publisher's access to a Google account, remove it at Google security settings, or email us and we will revoke it and delete the stored token within 7 days. If you send us an email, you can ask us to delete it and any copies at any time.

YouTube API Services

BH Publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using our YouTube content you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. See also the Google Privacy Policy.

Messages you send us

If you email us or message our social accounts, we use what you send only to reply, or, if you ask, to consider your story for a future post. We never publish anyone's personal details.
